Nostradamus
I think it was 1981 when I went to a cinema to watch The Man Who Saw Tomorrow. A film based on not only past but future predictions from Nostradamus
Michel de Nostredame (December 1503 – July 1566), usually Latinised as Nostradamus, was a French astrologer, apothecary, physician, and reputed seer, who is best known for his book Les Prophéties (published in 1555), a collection of 942 poetic quatrains allegedly predicting future events.
Unfortunately his work is widely open to interpretation. However some of the predictions are so close to reality it is difficult to ignore or cast aside.
But what Nostradamus has predicted for 2025 is concerning.
What I found different is the prediction of an alien species visiting earth…
Since an early age I have believed in UFOs. Science fiction would be a definite type of book or film for me. One of possibly the most interesting is….
The Day the Earth Stood Still originally 1959 and a remake in 2008.

The story is based on a UFO landing in America. An Alien called Klaatu and his bodyguard, a massive robot called Gort, present themselves to an awaiting military group. Klaatu is “accidentally” shot but manages to stop Gort from destroying everything.
Basically Klaatu has a message for World Leaders that they must stop destroying the planet or face the consiquences. He explains that an interplanetary organization has created a police force of invincible robots like Gort. “In matters of aggression, we have given them absolute power over us”. Klaatu concludes, “Your choice is simple: join us and live in peace, or pursue your present course and face obliteration. We shall be waiting for your answer.” Klaatu and Gort then depart in the space ship. The remake is not set the same, as against giving time to consider in the initial film the remake is based more on a do or die immediate answer.
Klaatu tells the American scientist ambassador that the people of other planets are concerned about Earth’s possible aggression, now that humanity has developed rockets and rudimentary atomic power. He states that if his message is ignored, Earth could be “eliminated”. The scientist agrees to gather lead scientists from around the world at the space ship; he also suggests that Klaatu peacefully demonstrate the power he possesses beforehand.
In the initial film there is a show of technology to let the people on earth see what they are capable of. Its not destructive or a show of how capable their weapons are but more a show of how they can disrupt our energy source, all electrical equipment on Earth ceases to function for ½ an hour, except for essential services, such as hospitals and aircraft in flight.
The book was from 1940 and our technology has jumped substantially since then, our development of nuclear weapons and communication devices are constantly becoming more available and greater. As for aggression – well turn on the News any day and its clear that we have become more aggressive.
With advancement in space travel now a reality thanks to SpaceX, we are getting closer to the possibility of a deep space travel. SpaceX advancements are exceptional and with Mr Musk in charge his visions are becoming a reality.
The fear that one of the countries processing nuclear power will launch a weapon is looking more likely as the wars commence or that a missile will hit a Nuclear Power Plant.
The two films differ greatly as the first storyline is based on a warning while the remake is based on an immediate response to a negative and aggressive reaction.
My own personal hope is that if we are visited by an alien life form that a situation like the film original film, The day the earth stood still, would happen. But it would mean that the leaders of our nations agree to live in peace. Peace by force appears to be the answer.
An Extraterrestrial life-form visiting earth would change and answer so many questions and assuming that along with technological advancement in space travel that they would also have advanced technology in medicine.
Pending your belief a divine intervention would be seriously the real alternative.
The alternative is too dangerous to believe.
The newly elected president Trump was outspoken in his election campaign that he would bring peace to Ukraine and Russia but failed to explain how, so that’s a wait and see. He seemed evasive on the conflicts in the Middle East. But a recent tweet on X by President Elect Trump about “taking control” of the Panama Canal and “buying” Greenland at the same time as suggesting taking control of Canada feels very aggressive. What would comments like these result in if, say China, made the same comments ?
As I write this article I watched a BBC News report about the last active hospital in Gaza being attacked and subsequently ending their capability of offering care ? My understanding from the Geneva Convention 1949 following the fall of Nazi Germany, was that Red Cross facilities were protected by International Law. Apart from casualties of war, hospitals are necessary for the welfare of individuals. Cancer does not care about war, but breathes off it, the ongoing medical care for all patients is essential and above question. Leave our medical personnel alone, their normal work is intense enough. Cutting off essential medical supplies is an act beyond what even Hitler attempted…
Civilians are to be protected from murder, torture or brutality, and from discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, religion or political opinion. Hospital and safety zones may be established for the wounded, sick, and aged, children under 15, expectant mothers and mothers of children under seven.
How much clearer can the articles be and why are they now ignored. The United Nations were founded on the principles of upholding the international agreements of the Geneva convention.

These wars must stop now to allow humanitarian aid to help citizens in conflict areas and establish solid peace accords.
Just to clarify about SpaceX and the advancement of technology by Elon Musk, I personally believe that these advancements are incredible and Elon is a visionary leader, his work on Space exploration is extraordinary. Just watching how his company created the rocket retraction is a leap forward and beyond our imagination but already proven in 2024.
King Charles
Our neighboring countries royalty have had a year with Cancer, King Charles and The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton both battling cancer and creating their own approach to Awareness,
King Charles had a tough start to 2024, health-wise. After he was treated for an enlarged prostate in January, doctors discovered cancer, and he is currently undergoing treatment. After sharing the news of the King’s diagnosis, Buckingham Palace said they will not be sharing regular updates on his health or treatment. Buckingham Palace did announced in a statement on Feb. 5, 2024, that Charles had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer. During a procedure to address a benign enlarged prostate condition the month prior, doctors found something else. “A separate issue of concern was noted,” officials said..
However he looked well durning the Kings Christmas 2024 Speech and thanked the medical teams for their help both for himself and his family, two extracts from the Christmas message really summed up things
“All of us go through some form of suffering at some stage in our life, be it mental or physical. The degree to which we help one another – and draw support from each other, be we people of faith or of none – is a measure of our civilisation as nations”
“From a personal point of view, I offer special, heartfelt thanks to the selfless doctors and nurses who, this year, have supported me and other members of my family through the uncertainties and anxieties of illness, and have helped provide the strength, care and comfort we have needed”

In September, Kate revealed she had completed her course of preventative chemotherapy and she recommenced some of her public engagements. The princess looked as beautiful as ever and radiates health,
As with any family facing and battling Cancer it is important that we create Awareness to help others. These two warriors are more restricted about what they can publicly talk about but Cancer is Cancer and their battles are a testament to their public lives. I hope that Buckingham Palace decide to elaborate on both their diagnosis and treatment when they are in remission.
And then there is Us…….
2025 marks my 11th year since diagnosis and my 7th year in remission. My annual appointment with my Oncologist is in February.
2025 also marks Anita’s 5th year since diagnosis and entering her 5th year in remission.
In November I completed 99% of our house renovations and I reached a decision to relook for full time employment. Since re-launching my attempt to commence full time employment I have now more or less two options facing me for January 2025 and both are in the transport, logistics, warehousing and distribution industry with a third option currently in sight. So hopefully my next update will be to announce the company that I intend to join. I simply can’t sit still, the renovations kept me busy this year but as the level of work started to be reduced I was getting bored, and yes 99% the other 1% is more down to non essential updates some of which will need further finance that I currently can’t afford.
This April will be a challenge when I will be representing the Lymphoma Coalition as a patient advocate to the EHA. The EHA are currently reviewing their clinical procedure for Hodgkins Lymphoma and I have the honour of representing the Coalition as a patient – this is something that I am really looking forward to.
