I.C.E. Chemotherapy

An abbreviation for a chemotherapy combination used to treat certain types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

R – rituximab,

I. – ifosfamide,

C. – carboplatin

E – etoposide phosphate.

ICE in the context of chemotherapy is an acronym for one of the chemotherapy regimens, used in salvage treatment of relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and Hodgkin lymphoma. In case of CD20-positive B cell lymphoid malignancies the ICE regimen is often combined today with rituximab.

Initially I was to get R-I.C.E. Chemotherapy. However a decision was made after the first cycle that the R (- rituximab) was not necessary
